December '11

Dec 7thish- Christmas shopping and outfit shopping at the Dolphin Mall and then had a Great time going to Last Chance Saloon with Liz and Will. Bonding sesh, and now I can no longer say I have never been there!!

14th-The Christmas Party here went very well and was a lot of fun. Danika was my date, we went and got ready all the girls at Amanda's, then headed over for dinner and dancing.  :)

19th-I ordered my dress for V's wedding, and it was the easiest thing ever, thankfully! We were close to my friend's house so we met up and said hi, then headed to South Beach to hang out for the day, I also got to go to the Angler's Staff Party and that was fun as well! I even tried to do a little night fishing, unsuccessful though, but next time!!

24th- Christmas Eve I got to assist with Elf Tuck Ins, the last house was the greatest- Santa's helper had a dance party, looked at stars and threw reindeer food with glitter all over the lawn by the ocean under the moon, caught a lizard, ate some cookies and chocolate from France..great people and they Definitely were on Santa's nice list!

25th- I did a girls Christmas with Manda, Elethea, Danika, Jess, and Annie. Christmas day, after a busy day at the Beach I went to Caitlin and Eric's for dinner, s'more martinis, cookies, and we watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Then, during Elf (Best Christmas movie ever), I got to cuddle w Stella and we all ended up snoozing on the comfy couch! A very nice Christmas in the Keys!!

27th- My room is finally neat and orgazized once again, after this hectic holiday season so far. I helped run the Reindeer Run 5K at 6:30 am, got to babysit on the beach and then assist in Super Bingo that night. When I say SUPER, there is a reason- the prizes were fabulous- Ipod touch, Ipod shuffle, a Kayak, an eliptigo bike (if you don't now what this is- a cross between an eliptical and a bike, fun to ride too), a new (regular style) bicycle, a 14 mega pix Nikon camera, a Spa package...great prizes! We had about a 300 person turn out and had a lot of fun!!

28th- Yesterday I babysat and got to attend a Magic Show with Mike Super (Look him up- he is having his own show starting in January). I got to be in the show twice- once with taking a photo while he levitated someone, and the other time I was on stage and picked a color, and another man picked a random object. We spray painted the word in the box and he made it appear! I picked red and the man picked Golf cart. Then after the curtain was raised there was a red golf cart there!! Also, he did some other amazing tricks like make a paper flower float in the air, then he set it on fire and it turned into a real flower! Also, he made an empty coke can from someone in the audience magically refill, and he walked through a mirror and the words on someone's jacket were suddenly written on the jacket backwards. MAGIC!!

29th- Today, along with errands I tried a Red Velvet Drink- delish @KeyzKones. (Nic is going to sell her photos there, so if you're in the market for some beautiful shots I suggest you check them out!). I took a nap at the pool, I wrapped myself in the towel like a taco, minus my feet (Sticking out) and a little hole for my nose. I bet I looked silly, but it was perfect and I fell asleep for a little over an hour at the pool. I love that it is December 29th and I am still wearing shorts! And I get to see Grant :) Yeyy!! Life is good, hectic but in a good way! <3

Epic Nights

All of them lately have been classified under the terminology "epic." "Awesomeness" "Superb" "hilarious" the list goes on and on. Day off today I relaxed by a waterfall pool with Miss Manda, sun nap, and got some great doller store finds! I have one of those awesome noise maker things that I had as a kid- the tube ones that look like an alien would bring them off their spaceship if they ever invaded earth. This made me super excited...not so much the lady that worked there though...

Ladies Night last night at the Big Chill/ CJ's/ Coconuts/ Sergey and Tom's room/ Tom's floor and bed (haha don't ask)... We did karaoke at Coconuts, for me to find out today that it actually wasn't karaoke night- rather some people were playing rock band and had an extra mic haha. So fun!! There was live music at the Chill, we made our own dancefloor (like usual) and danced a LOT...just how I like my nights!

bACK at home, random events all night until 330 when I decided I should probably go to sleep for REAL instead of my infamous power naps I like to take.

Halloween Time

This year, I had about 6 halloweens...for the actual night, our group all dressed up (sunday best) and went to CJ's. Coconuts, and the Crib. (Nic, liz, me, Kelly, Will, Hulk- then Cam and his roommates met up for a bit too).  At the Crib Toh (pronounced like the toe on your foot) seranaded the ladies in our group, and I was thrown onto the dance floor to dance with a weird lady and a 'pimp'.  After that, I hung out under CQ and watched some games of Ping Pong.

Nov 1st= Start of Season. I had off, went to Lifebreath with Beth Beilat (Amazing breath work class- lifechanging), then chilled out and watched We Own the Night and Zoolander :)

Fantasy Fest

Went down monday night for Fantasy Fest w Dan.  Met up with Catie and Liz, then later Brandy, her sister and roommate Tara came and met up with us.  For all of you who don't know what fantasy fest is, you're missing out! It's pretty much like a Key West version of Mardi Gras and halloween mixed together. If you had to describe it in a few words "Bodypaint, Drinking, Costumes, Craziness, and Dancing" would be the best ones I could think of.

So, Monday night my costume was like a goddess kind of, I had gold fabric around my top and bottom, wide fishnet thigh highs, heels and purple flowers and vines airbrushed onto me.  We went downtown to random places, like Burbon St., Fat Tuesday, and a few others.

Tuesday in the day we walked around and did some shopping, hung out by the pool and worked on our tans. We got rehydrated and fed at a place that had a similar look to no name Pub in Big pine Key, with the dollar bills all on the walls.  Got a delish burger and an Octoberfest.

Tuesday night we went and walked to Mallory Square, saw part of a cat show, and watched the sunset.  That night there was a green party, and a Tutu Party (along with wild west themed events as well).  I wore leopard tights, green panties over them, a tutu (multipurpose so I was dressed for both parties in one night), a tiara, glitter, beads, etc.  The Tutu party was cool,. You had to wear one in order to be let in. Dan and I walked past a Claire's and so we ran in and got them so we could attend.  We danced a lot, and also went to some random bars along the way to dance and mingle.  At the end Liz,Catie, and I were at a country themed party for a bit too. Also, Chels and Brian were with us that night.

Wednesday in the day again we did some walking aruond on Duval St. We all got Denny's in the morning, then met up with Chelsea and Brian again. Dan and I ventured to the beach and layed out and took a 2 hour nap (well, I did...Dan not really).

Wednesday night, Dan and I went out with our friend Quinton to a red party at Foggarty's. I had glowsticks encorporated into my costume this time, along w tights that reminded me of the joker- diamonds, and everyother one had the middle filled in as the design, red bottoms, a glow stick belt/mini hula hoop, and glowsticks in my shoes too. My makeup had rhinestones and looked kind of like an arrow pointing across my face.  We checked out the bubble afterparty, that I had been dying to go to, only to find out that it totally wasn't as good as I had expected it to be- very few people, a bubble machine in the corner, and random music. No one really was dressed in costume either. Very disappointing. Good thing I didn't go through a costume change like I originally thought was going to be my plan in the beginning!! We stayed out until 4:30 (like pretty much all the nights).

Thursday we had a lazy Key West day at Quniton's, went to lunch at Kahoots, then hit the road for the trip back to KL.

Friday at work was our Haunted Trail (like a hunted house deal).  Liz and I had the 3rd station. I was a crazy cook and she was half dead on the table with her insides all over, and there was a feast on the table (bread, Crown Royal, Grapes, Wine, body parts..you know- the usual for a renaissance feast.  We switched it up every few times, but in general I was the crazy cook, who when I smelled blood would butcher and eat you.  Liz was the poor victim, and Rachel was a crazy in the background, and then as the night progressed pretended to be trying to fix Liz when she was on the table bc it was her 'friend' and then I came and chased her away.  Becuase food was involved in our station it got very sticky, but we had a good time, and definitely grossed out and scared more people than not.  We had about 400 people go through the trail that night.

When it came to cleanup, a lot of people helped, and half way through it started the infamous keys monsoon rain. Absolutley drenched- everyone. Fun though, and all the fluorescent orange and blacklight spray was out of my hair about 5 minutes into the rain so our showers after picking up were super short.

That night, a few people came over to hang out then we went to the wreck hall for a bit.

Tampa Trip W Kell

Random trip w Kelly, ended up in Naples, Tampa, Clearwater, and St. Petersburg.  I got to see Merrissa who just moved to the area, and get some really nice beach time in! Kelly and I hit some good bargain stores and also checked out Fort DeSoto.  The beach there is great too, it won 2 awards for the best beach in America for 2 years. At sunset over Ft. DeSoto we saw a pod of dolphins, and there was a big boat cruising through the port too, absolutely beautiful!

We tried Alligator jerky, went to the first Hooters and got some wing sandwiches. I was surprised, but Kelly and I almost used half a bottle of hot sauce too, weird for me who especially doesn't like hot stuff. I can see that I am acquiring a taste for it. There was a World of Beer, very exciting for me. I got a bunch of random ones- a Pumpkin Ale from a brewery in Florida, Magic Hat #9, Tilburger's Dutch Brown Ale (supposed to be like Sweetwater's "Brown"), Laughing Skull, 400 Pound Monkey India Pale Ale, Tire Bite, Geary's Summer Ale, Monk in the Trunk, and Wells Banana Bread Beer.  Also, I go a map that has most all the microbreweries in the southern states locations and a quick guide info about tours (SC, GA, FL).

We picked a random hotel/motel and stayed there. Cheaper than a Tampa hostel we were thinking about checking out (Easy to get to, low budget, and close to where we were).  We dressed our best and went out to the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa for a night too.  We didn't win too much, but at the same time didn't loose too much either.  Fairly busy for a mid weekday night.

After I saw the sunset theme, I thought it may be a sign that someday I will live on the west coast of Florida, on the Gulf, to watch sunsets with dolphins daily. Who knows?!

Good thing I have a Cactus because this is the First Time I've Watered it in 3 Months...

Ok,
So I keep trying to be good about keeping this up to date and it is not working, so I guess for now I am going to let myself be content with the fact that once in a while I will reveal details about the past however long in my life, whatever I feel like sharing. In a way, I feel like this is sort of becoming my online diary,..Buuuut a lot of people can read it, so I won't necessarily be speaking on my innermost and deepest thoughts necessarily...unless I don't care that everyone know about it! But whatever, I mean, I am who I am and if you don't like it or don't approve, then you don't need to be involved in my life so ... yeah. :)  If you can roll with the punches and laugh at the humor in it then so be it, and I encourage you to follow me from time to time. If not, then I would hope you decide to spend your time on things that are more important than MY life!! lol. This is said in humore, feel free to take with a grain of salt...except the last line which is as straight forward as I can be!

Random Cool-Ness

I went Lobstering with Chels. Then we had a lobster dinner!!

Fishing w Kylie, Will, and Chels...caught Red Mangrove Snapper, and a Nurse Shark. He cut the line but it was worth the fight and a neat story. Also, he was 4' long...and seriously I am not exaggerating. You can ask anyone who was there with me!

I played the best game of Up the River Down the River/ F the Dealer that I have ever in my life a few nights ago w Chris and Mike. Also I learned the game Horserace.

I caught up with Miss Erica and (haha, suprise suprise) had my first really long phone convo in quite some time..aka a few hours!! (Go us!!)

My festival was postponed due to the Hurricane Irene scare, and as it played out, missed us here in the south and hit Jersey and parts of North Carolina.  So, they rescheduled it and I am super stoked that I am going!!

Year #3 that I am trying to go to Fantasy fest. I'm saying that nothing is written in stone because it seems whenever I write something in pen in my planner, it never seems to happen. So, I've leaned and become acustom to that so I have been resorting back to the trusty #9 lately.

I haven't lost my lucky penny yet!!

I bought a sweet little black dress and I'm excited to wear it!

I have been asked to be in 3 weddings next year!!

I am sick of red ants and think southern Florida would benefit immensely if those along with mosquitos did not exist. Floridian Mosquitos are to New york Noseums as FL Summer Humidity is to NY Bone Chilling Temperatures.

My spanish has improved.

My yoga skills have improved a lot this summer.

I still have random dance parties anywhere :)

I am super excited to see my family and friends.. TOMORROW... and can't believe that it's been 9 months since I last stepped foot there. Impressive!

(On that note, I am off to bed).

Nick's Visit

Nick came down to visit me (WooHoo!!). The first night we did Miami, and the next day we went to Shore Club and got hooked up with chairs and umbrellas on the beach.  It was soooo hot, within 2 minutes of getting out of the car we were already drenched : / But the beach was so nice.  We went to get in the water and everyone was standing on the edge. I didn't realize why, until after I got in and realized I got stung 3 times by Jellyfish!! Ahhh. Stunk.

After that, we walked around South Beach area and did some shopping, got Tattoos, took pictures, ate custard and saw some crazy statue people! Shake Shack, realllly good burgers, met up with Natasha too.

Up all night, pool, hot tub, pizza, etc.

Day 2- Keys Day

Accidentally slept in too late to do Key West so we did stuff around the area...

___________________________________________________________________________________

Day 3- Key West!!

We drove down to Key West, and didn't make very many stops on the way down due to the fact that we did some keys stuff the day before.  Key West, on the way down there were a few heavy patches of rain but when we arrived, we found a parking lot and parked for the day.  The weather was beautiful, and we did a lot of Duval Street.  Lunch was delicious at Hog's Breath Saloon, and lots of street fair type shops.  We walked around the town and saw some sweet houses, did the most southern point in the Us, with the traditional photo opp there. Also, Mile marker zero and more keys shops.
___________________________________________________________________________________

Night 4- Back to Miami!! Dinner on Lincoln, a nice place that mixed Italian and Greek.  Hung out until 2:30...long story short we found a hotel for the night and then the next day (unfortunately) Nick was back venturing to NY.

Spontaneous Keys Day

Today both Kylie and I (ORC) had the day off so we decided to venture down the isles to Islamorada and venture through Theater of the Sea today. We did the open bottom boat ride with dolphins that came up in the center and alongside the boat.  Also, we saw a parrot show and a dolphin show. I got to volunteer for the dolphin show and get a kiss from one! We saw a variety of animals there, such as a sea lion named Wilbur, a number of dolphins, sea turtles, stingrays, parrotfish, parrots and exotic birds, nurse sharks, and iguanas.

We went to Robbie's and fed the huge tarpon (and when I say huge, I mean like 4-5 feet). We layed on the dock belly down and the fish jumped up and grabbed the fish out of our hands! The man working said the past weekend they were so busy they went through 2,000 pounds of feeder fish!! I bought a bracelet and a sweet hair clip at Robbie's (they have a little artisan village there).

We also did some beach pulloffs (I believe one was by Indian Key) and got some sweet photos!  We swam in the crystal blue waters and we even think we saw a shark (fin in the water)! Which led to our finale...SHARK WEEK!!!

A great day, led to a great night...flight is booked for my vacation. The fastest flight I have ever booked, I searched about 5 minutes, picked one and bought it on the spot. 36 days!! Woohoo!

Lots to look forwards to...Nick is coming the 16th, then Identity Fest is the week after, then just about a week or so afterwards I go on vaca! Great way to begin August!

Words of Wisdom

It's more the people you are surrounded with though, remember that! Surround yourself with a beautiful place but not beautiful spirited people and the most amazing place will get old fast and even the most beautiful place will loose its value/ appeal.
: )

The more I live, the more I realize I'm a free bird...I don't know if I really want to settle in one place forever. There is too much to see and do, people to meet, things to experience. I want to do it all.

Tribute to Kylie Miller

Tribute to Miss Kylie Miller on her Bday!! (Don't worry, she's still alive) I realize sometimes 'tribute' when stuck in there sometimes makes people think that something bad happened. No, just the opposite! Kylie's parents decided to have some fun and make a baby, which turns out to be one of the greatest people I have ever met! :)

Miss Kylie,
you are the most amazing friend and I love you to death. I want you in my life forever and I plan on always calling you to sing you songs and tell u everything random because that is what I do, and we will celebrate for sure next time I see you! You are so thoughtful, caring, a great listener and advice giver (made up term, yes). (I guess a wise consultant may be a good term, haha. But as you know, you are way more than a consultant.).....Beautiful, Fun, crazy, chill, cool and collected, knows how to get down!, rockstar dance party buddy, a hard worker, sincere and genuine, the best massuse in NY...maybe in the US or maybe the world...reach for the stars girl!

I am wishing you have the most amazing year this year and that the stars align in your favor! Go with the flow and it will all work out! : ) You're the best and I love love LOVE LoVe You My dear!

<3

Dance central

Hung out at CJ's and the Chill this weekend, Also went dancing..fun crazy night. I love that things are open until all hours of the night here! I definitely danced probably like 4 hours straight! I needed it though :) Woke up the next morning with a flyer for a Columbian Independance Day Celebration...haha/ I;ll have to see about my schedule for that!

I'm really excited- next weekend Kara and her friends are coming down! Girls on the loose (haha). "Ballin on a budget" sounds perfect! I worked at camp today, and it was quite funny- Nicole got me, with "Hey Stephanie, I got a lizard, look.." I was so excited, then I saw it was a crazy creepy crawly centipede type thing- blue and orange or something. Holy crap, I screamed and was pushing through people to get it away from me! haha I didn't think I would be that scared of a bug ever. I was assuming it was poisionous though because of the color. It was so funny (after the fact)..maybe it doesn't sound that funny, but you can ask anyone who was there :)

My mini-me was there today, and we played on a slip and slide, played in the rainshower (wierd how it randomly came down so hard but sun was out most of the time...love those!).  Went to Amy's class tonite too, then caught up with some people.

My computer decided to delete all my music on me, so I have been working on trying to put my cds on so I have something to listen to again. Sad, I even tried to restore it...I will have to try and mess w my external hard drive to try and put any saved on there back on at some point soon.

Ups and Downs, Storms Come and Go...like the river, water Flows.

So sad my plans were a mess for middle of June, but on the up side things here are going well.  Lots of yoga has been being practiced, I am determined to practice my spanish more, and the ninos are helping me which is awesome (plus they are so cute so that's an added bonus). I have spoken to a lot of my home friends lately and am very glad to catch up when we do!

I feel like my hot power yoga session the other day really reset my mindframe, and reinstated the work hard and reap the benefits motto, along with the "Live in the moment for we never know what is going to happen at any other time than now."  I have had numerous people change plans on me the past week or so, and instead of letting myself waste time in being frustrated, I have just gone with the flow and had the reminder that I don't need to wait around for other people.  Push forward and if it is going to happen it will, even though it may not be as you thought- sometimes it ends up being better.  I am no longer going to live my life with the "what ifs" and go with the "what is."  It is good every now and then to just let yourself realize this again, and even if you have not forgotton, it is easy to loose the simplicity in life. (Another thing I want to remind myself of is to simplify, get back to the roots...life is about less stuff and more quality).

I had a conversation with my friend a few days ago about how some people see value in physical belongings,  (things they buy, higher prices being 'better quality', more in quantity) while there are others who choose to spend their money on  other things such as experiences (travel, classes, charities, DOING things).  It is completely true...which one are you?
___---------------------------------___-------------------------------___-----------------------------___

I had a great day in South Beach with A and we layed out, got some VIP Clevelander Rooftop passes, had a delicious dinner and listened to some live music along with some tasty beverages!  Also, I have a "mini-me" at camp who is adorable and she will be in camp most of the summer :)

Quarter Century Club

I have officially joined the quarter century club! Thank you to everyone for my birthday wishes first off, I miss y'all and wish we could have flown everyone down here, how awesome would that have been??! Kylie (from Washington, not the original Ky Ky) went and layed out at a pool with a waterfall for a few hours, then ended up at Shipwrecks for lunch where we met some really cool people...I got a birthday slice of key lime pie, and then we went for a boat ride and snorkeling with our new friend Gene. After that adventure, we went back and got some sliders..buffalo chicken ones and cheeseburger ones. We saw a friend from work there after, and then once back at home I went to support the softball team (which I am seriously considering playing next time, coed team and they need girls!!). After that, it turned into the Wreck Hall then hanging out afterwards... great night, fun people, and an amazing day off.  I love when you just go with the flow, and the flow takes you somewhere awesome!@

Today I may go wakeboarding later on with a person I met yesterday too, how awesome!! Now, if only they had the new pool in (they tore the other one up and we are getting another one) it would be awesome. My AC is fixed on a high note as well as our shower that is being fixed at the moment.  My original plans for Bahia Honda today isn't happening, but I have next week for that so no worries!

I should probably think back on the last 25 and say something about what I've been through, where I want to head, etc...well, I have learned a lot the past 25 years and am glad my parents raised me how they did. I am thankful for all my friends and everything I have been through because those experiences have made me who I am today and I am glad for all the love that is present in my life at the moment.  I am thankful I have a great job, that I have the chance to use my degree and excel at what I have been trained in, and what I like to do.  I have checked a number of things "off my list" lately, and hope to continue to keep living each day to the fullest and getting the most out of everything I do, relationships that are built, experiences and situations that happen, etc. 25...I'm hoping it's gonna be another great year!

Life Update in Mini.

So far being an Activities Coordinator here has been great! I really like the fact that I already have experience in the procedures here, and although some of them changed, a majority of the routine is about the same. Also, I know my way around property well which is very helpful!

I have been doing a lot of Yoga lately, and trying hard to get back into my workout routine. It's nice that although summer is considerably slower (it will pick up with camps next week though) we have nice initiatives, such as use of gyms, associate fitness classes, a fitness contest, healthy options at lunch- good salad bar, south beach diet option, a healthy choice option (Which is less cost than other meals which usually healthier is more expensive so this is nice and makes a lot more sense), and of course the added fact that we are working outside in the heat so we are less hungry and more thirsty, and there are people in swimsuits all the time to remind us to be healthy!

Right now I am here until September, but we will see what happens... time will tell!

Tonite after talking to Brian and Grandma/Aunt Maria, getting laundry done, setting up direct deposit, getting the go ahead to start learning or brishing up on a language (or as many as I want from a list of like 96 choices), mopping the floors, pushing a great (weight lifting!!) session, and a few miles and random things in the gym, followed by a yoga class... I decided to go and explore and find and check out close parks in the area. I found one that had a lot of facilities, and I hung out there a little while and then hooped a bit.

My plans/ goals for tomorrow (or so I think): Watch the sunrise, go where the road leads me, meet a cool person, enjoy the sunshine and Ocean, have a dance party, and then skype with Miss Meg! Sounds like a pretty awesome day to look forward to! :)

Pilot Whale Rescue

I got to the volunteer area for the Pilot Whales in southern Florida. To clear some things up, they are NOT an endangered species. They live in pods and what happened with this pod they think is that one of the whales was sick and tried to beach itself, and the other whales followed.  There were 26 at first, a number of them didn't make it, while some of them they nursed back to health and released. They want to try to release at least 2 whales at a time so they aren't 'alone' which is a good idea.  The night I volunteered, I arrived around 7:45 with my wet suite.  They had you sign some forms and gave you wet suite type water shoes to wear because normal water shoes had a good chance of slipping. The area is enclosed with a metal fence because sharks were coming near shore to try and attack/ eat the injured whales (free food).  We took turns holding the whales to keep their blow holes above water so they wouldn't drown. The first shift I was on (8-12) went well. I was on 303 and 302, the ones with pnemonia.  The air they were breathing out was a little odorous, but it is expected because they were sick.  There was a combination of no shows and a lack of volunteers for the 12-4am shift, so most of us stayed through, including I.  The community had done a nice job with food and drink donations for the staff and volunteers which was nice to get a little pick me up after a few hours of keeping steady these large creatures.  They had 2-3 people on each whale to support them, and also they advised us to "hold on for dear life" if they got spooked or decided to try to swim away or attack (they are protective of their pod members, and at one point when I was switching I had to get out of the water fast and then wait till the biggest one calmed down before I went to hold the baby and switch out with someone. It definietly was a little unnerving.  I also got a chance to hold the biggest one (13 feet) #300, I had 2 men who were on the animal with me, a good thing because for a little while we had to really try to control it! Even though things are lighter in the water, they still were a bit heavy- the way you hold them, sometimes the whales decide to rest their bellies on your knee, so imagine a 4 hour lunge in the water with a whale on your lunged leg...yup, that was me. I got 2 short breaks of about 25 minutes and the rest of the time pretty much i was in the water, but it was so worth it! I left around 5am, got back home at 530 and then showered then went to bed at 6am.  The biologists and the marine rescue team members were really cool, some live around here and others were flown in from different areas of the country.

They expect to continue to need help for the next month or so, around the clock and everyday. Yesterday I heard news that they had to euthanize one of the sick ones :(  When I was there a few weeks ago though, the ones with pnemonia you could hear how difficult it was for them to breathe, so if it got worse then I can only imagine. I hope the other one survives though!

Sunday Funday/ Manny Excursion

Sooo..amazingly great day here in southern Florida. Glad to be back here, all moved in and unpacked...have seen my old friends and made some new ones already.  I went to a Full Moon Party Friday night at Morado Bay/ Islamorada.  Great time, fire dancing, great costumes and parades, a live band with beach dance area and a dj/ dance floor and of course lots and lots of dancing!! I love to dance!! A big crowd too.  We all drove out there and even though it took longer than we originally thought to get there, and parking was a mess, and it was pretty expensive to get in it was totally worth it!

Today, my first full day off since I got here so far I have successfully rolled out of bed to put a bathing suite on and hit the pool, then I got a lite lunch and hit the beach for some ocean paddleboarding. It is so much fun, if you haven't tried it before I definitely recommend it! We boarded through the channel to the marina area (where we found a manatee!!!) and went through a little cove off the beaten path.  The manatee was circling around us and we were playing back and forth for a little while with it (it would go head of us then let us catch up, then come right next to and under our boards, then we would get ahead and it would come back around and swim next to us.  It was so amazing! I named it Manny, and Amy named it Bubba. Haha I can't wait to go back (maybe tomorrow) and see if it is still hanging around this area!the wind made it a little tough to paddle back to shore, but it overall was a relaxing time, along with a good workout at the end.  A guy even sprayed us down with a hose as we went by his house which was appreciated seeing as the temperature is in the 90's (and being on the water of course is windier but reflects more of the sun).

Later tonite I am going to a hot yoga class, and then over to help some sick pilot whales.  I now have a wetsuit I borrowed so I will be a little more prepared.  I am excited to do this and I will let y'all know what it entails once I have finished my shift! :) Woohoo!

Thank You Atlanta

Dear Atlanta,

Thank you for letting me experience you. From the beauty of your countryside and marvelous sunsets to the terror (for me at least) of your fury and tornadoes. You truly do have some great people here who I will not forget, the southern hospitality for the most part I'd say holds true.

I have made some amazing memories, and experienced a 'different way of life.'  I have taken advantage of a few cool opportunities, along with wishing I had more time here to take advantage of more.  I know I will be back again in a short while for a visit, but am also very excited for new opportunity ahead.

I have had a nice time here and been welcomed in with open arms (which I appreciate very much) by my Aunt and Uncle (and cousins). They could not have been any more helpful or caring. I appreciate everything they have given me and the time we got to spend reconnecting, after not seeing them much when I was younger (due to the fact they lived in NC for a great part of my childhood).  They are great people and I am proud to have them a part of my family! Lots of laughter, some tears, bonding during my lovely unemployment period and late night chocolate escapades :), saying 'goodbye' to Coty (went away to the military for a while), to welcoming in a new member of the family (Bella- our new puppy), teaching Shel about hooping and her teaching me some organization (hah)..the list goes on.

Applebuddies- I have bonded with you all more than I had guessed in the few short months I have been here, but I love you all and know that we will all keep this time to look back on with 'fond memories' (to say the least haha).  Also, to the others I have met during my time here...I'm glad for that too.

Here's to the new people who come into our lives, the old ones who helped shape who we become, and the ones we know will be sticking around through it all. Thank You All!

<3 Stephanie

A month later..

Well, about a month has gone by since my last post. Sorry about that...To fill in the gaps, I went and checked out the Sweetwater 420 fest, although I didn't get to see Rusted Root I did see some other good acts and enjoyed some tasty brews. After that, I stayed w Ash in North Atlanta.

The adventure to Savannah/ Tybee Island was a sensation. Jammed out to Girl Talk on the way there, chilled and hooped at the beach with Abita and some Tilt.  Great weather, and pretty busy for the middle of the week, but it was around Spring Break time so it was expected.

Jimkata was in the ATL and rocked it (like always).  Even gave a shoutout to my best, the one, the only, Kylie Miller! Oh yeahhh. (and of course Homer, NY). Good music, cool guys, great time. (Happy Easter)

What else... I went to my first braves game. The first one however was rained out, so we hung out at the 755 Club for a little while before heading back.  Because of the rain out they played the next day a double header, and although I couldn't attend the one in the afternoon I did get to see the one that night w heather, LB, Nat, Haylie and their bfs.  Heather's friend even hooked her and I up with row 2 tickets right behind home plate. Oh yeah! It was awesome! They played the Brewers.

I had my first adventure to Stone Mountain with Ash and B and we hiked to the top. Great weather, and view from half way and then the top was amazing. You can oversee the city, and the skyline is broken up into 3 parts. Gorgeous.  I went to see some bands after that in Little 5, electronic type.

Dah Dahh Dah Waht Wahhh (to musical undertones)

...Saturday debauchery Madness...Sunday funday w E..then to bringin home the money on Cinco, the the next Mon/Tues Shenanigans (Hotlanta We're on the Loose' and 'Blast Off Party')...Road Trip, Tampa w miss Mia and then MIA...then onto Paradise and a sweet rockin job. The next two weeks are gonna be insane!! Take away the fact that I no longer will have to be on these constant tornado warnings and watches, let's make it through this one. Would be perfect if I could take my Atlantians w me...

Savannah-Bound

...Come 6am Haley and I are off to Savannah...Sad Moni and Nat aren't coming though!! I will have to fill in the blanks of our adventure soon... Goodnite all!

PS- Jimkata will be in the ATL April 24th at the Five Spot...I'll be there!!
Also, really hoping to get next friday off for the Rusted Root Concert. If I am scheduled, I willl definitely do what I can to switch- even if that means I will have to work a double some other day...please oh please!

Storms..the difference between Upstate (NY) and the Dirty South

I used to think I liked thunderstorms...the rain and noise as it lulled you to sleep, the rolling thunder in the distance...notice the key word being DISTANCE.

Here, in lovely GA last night we had a crazy thunderstorm, which led to tornado warnings/ watches.  Thanks to Sabrina, and her grandma, I will remember a tornado watch is where it's 'ok' for you to sit and watch for it out the window. A warning is like a 'get the hell to safety because you may get hit and die.' Ok. well she didn't say the die part, but you know. If we had a basement here I may be a little more at ease, and the fact that if the trees did get hit and fall they are far enough away from the house that it wouldn't necessarily get hit, and we are on a hill-ish area makes me feel better.  But, when there are close to 90 (or more) I will look up the exact number later, of lightning hits in about an hour. The storms tore through Georgia, and lightning hit the main Bank of America, not once, but TWICE last night. I have no idea how the puppy slept through it all, and then when it finally calmed down, 420am she decides to come up and start pawing at me in the face to wake up and play with her. Yes, she is adorable...PS if you don't know, saturday April 2nd, we got a new puppy- she's adorable, Bella. She is a german shepard, rotweiller mix...bundle of energy but so freakin adorable!! She even slept with me (almost the whole night) on the couch.  She is as big as Taz and Bentley right now, but won't be for long!! I want her to stay puppy sized forever, but at the same time I love big dogs and am excited to see how big she will actually get! Also, she pretty much seems to already be potty (or potty pad) trained...we definitely got lucky with that! She is just 8 weeks old, about the same length as my aunt's shoe...I think it's like size 7 or something like that- so pretty close to my shoe size too.

Anyways, back to the storms...I hope there isn't any tornados where I am, or I hope I get used to and not as nervous for all of the warnings! Ahh! Especially because i was told we are going into the storm season. If we just got crazy thunder and lightning storms without the tornados I would be a lot more calm. The lightning here though definitely hits a lot more per hour, and seems to hit more/ be more 'rampant' (is that the word I should be using here) down here than in lil towns in NY that I have been in! I will say I like the noise ....

Georgia Smells Like Chives and My Childhood

Ok, to catch up on about 2 months or so...

SUPERCROSS at the Georgia Dome-

...really neat, never seen live supercross. It smells like exhaust but once you get past that, the arena is huge, tons of fans there, this was (I think) the championship too!  They had big shots of fire into the air as the race got near the end, and at the beginning and end of the last few rounds.  Beer was overpriced, but then again it was at the dome... parking wasn't bad surprisingly, and we were about two blocks away which is a short walk on a nice night.
___________________________________________________________________________________
PANAMA CITY BEACH...

Spring Breakers galore...4 Lokos, beer for breakfast, sun and sunburns, sunglasses, swimming and white beaches, clear blue water (the Gulf!!), music, good looking people everywhere, big trucks and sports cars, people shouting.."It's Vodka time!!" at the beach...what you would imagine for a crazy spring break..all the elements were there.  The weather was incredible- in the 80's.  the drive down was pretty long, but with some bumpin' tunes and great people it wasn't all that bad.
At night the sky was clear, we all layed on the beach and hung out for a while...the whole time pretty much was beach time and I loved it~ On the way down, I finally now can say I've been to Alabama ("the beautiful"), we found a bar that held Extreme Midget Wrestling, and the National Peanut something-or-other....gallery? fair? It was something like that.

On the way back, the most beautiful sunset..pulled over for about 45 mins and watched it...I love enjoying things while time seems not to be an issue..let's you relax and really take it all in without the worry of rush and all that.

LUCKYFEST-

Held at Park Tavern in Atlanta, Elana and I went.  There were just as many, if not more people at Piedmont Park as well, chillin outside in the sunshine, celebrating St. Patrick's a little early. An obsurd abundance of green everywhere... dogs, frisbee, beers, music (live at the tavern), beads, silly hats and green hairdos...the list goes on and on.

Afterwards, we went to the Dark Horse/ High Five with Lana, Stephen, Kale, and a few others.  Funny how there is a Dark Horse down here too! The atmosphere was similar to the one in Cortland I feel.  The next morning I had my first MARTA bus experience...what should have taken 15 minutes when all was said and done ended up taking close to 2 hours. Annoying, but at least I got a new experience out of it! Plus, I had a bowl of cornflakes to start my morning the right way...thank you breakfast for some morning decisiveness!

SAINT PATRICK'S DAY-
the Undergroung with Erica..we went in search of the "biggest st. patty's party in Atlanta"... even though we still had fun, we found out that even though they advertised it that way, it certainly could not have been THE biggest haha! They did have a dj though, and we encountered two little girls who were crazy at dancing- they were about 6 or so, and pretty darned amazing- haha, they looked like they could have been in a music video. I can only imagine them at 15...

After our Underground experience and some dinner, we ventured around downtown, and found a park near Woodruff Arts center that had speakers all around it and music playing. It was so cool!  We enjoyed a festive Shamrock shake, in the spirit of the holiday :)

Maria <3

Miss maria came to visit me!! I was so happy to see her!!
We had some craft time, and made some cool shirts- slits, ties, slices...I love our creativity!  We were introduced to Jeremiah Weed...if you don't know him, you should meet him. Random tidbit that may come in handy: Marathon's (the gas station) are open 24 hours in the south, while everything else closes pretty much by 11.  We were told that Georgia, this county, stops selling beer at 1130...But when we walked in and asked "the man" he said we don't stop till Saturday at midnight... good to know! Oh, and can't forget about our amazing dance party (like always)!*

We checked out a health food store in Little 5, and that whole area reminds me of Ithaca <3.  Sort of college town like, but lots of little local shops.  Kava, henna, and pure shea butter, along with a wide selection of bulk food and snacks.  I discovered that I like Robbie Robbins, a Native American musician while looking around one of the local shops in the area.  Plato's closet is another place like Trader K's- name brand stuff you buy and sell. I got a few sweet dresses there- o yea! Psycho Sisters is pretty well known, at least online I've seen a lot of stuff about it...they buy and sell clothing..but this place was more like a costume shop- pretty much anything costume-y imaginable, suspenders, hats, wings, masks, boots, cuffs, sunglasses, button downs, bling and bead necklaces...Elmyr is a bar/restaurant that sells big mouthwatering burritos..definitely a lotta bang for your buck.  I got pad thai- I didn't expect it to come in a burrito, but it did, and it was awesome though. A bit hot though- by the end I was starting to sweat haha but I'd definitely go back again.  Lots of PBR on tap here as well...I'm sure the people back home reading this will think that's pretty cool :)

Junkman's Daughter was another variety shop- graffiti art all over the front of the building. Everything from baby clothes to pickle, bacon, or absinthe flavored dental floss. Incense, paintings, tapestries, key chains, books, cards, candy... again, it was like a you-name-it-we-got-it store.  Vortex, a lovely delicious restaurant.  I think the one in Little 5 is the original one...you walk into the mouth of a guy with swirly eyes :) Large beverage/ beer/ wine selection.

More festivities included a tour and brew tastings at Sweetwater. We thought about going to go to Red Brick Brewary as well, but they only do tours specific days, and both were doing Wednesdays. We decided Sweetwater would be the one this time.  You buy the glass and get 6 tickets...good pour amounts. We tried Sweetwater 420, Blue (the IPA), Brown (which was half way between a pilsner and a stout), Sch weat!, and unfortunately they were out of Road Trip.  Suprisingly, Brown was my favorite one, and I usually don't really like dark beers.  My tastes are changing I've noticed!  Also, they are having a Sweetwater festival coming up..Railroad Earth, Galactic, Rusted Root...and, I looked it up- it's Free!! How SWEET is that?! hah.

...Yesum...

So, I have been doing some pretty cool things the past week or so...went to a Mardi Gras party, danced my pants off....made some sweet mardi gras outfits out of shiny wrapping/tissue type paper, yes I know it sounds funny but it actually came out pretty neat! (Cheers to Creativity!)

Did not know, but there is a red light radiation therapy bed that some people go in- about 15 minutes and is supposed to help with a lot of things...people who have constant headaches and need to take Tylenol/ ibuprofen have said to go in for a few sessions and  haven't needed any medicine for about a month! Hmm..

I went to Supercross at the Georgia Dome...first time there, big stadium! :)

We got light up hoops from Ash's grandma, and had a hoopin session after supercross...also, made up a dance (oh yea! Just like old times!) :) Glad to finally find a friend who likes to do it all too! :)

High Falls State Park- went with my Aunt and Cousin and we did a little day hike and picnic before I went into work... I hope everyone takes advantage of these days that are absolutely beautiful out!! :)

Snow in ATL

Yesterday morning there was snow here..great dream about my Grandma and Grandpa, woke up in a really happy mood. Went to work (yes, I have a job here now- yey!), then by the time I was done all the snow was melted and it was up in the high 40s!

Super tired so I went to bed early.

Rainy Georgia Day

Another Rainy Georgia day, buuut at least it's not snow!! It was -11 in Homer last week I heard..thank goodness I wasn't there for that! It's like Antarctica but there aren't any penguins there. Oh mann, this is why, people, we need to recycle and stop polluting, and take care of our Earth otherwise it is going to fight back and can easily destroy us! We should have more respect for her than that too.

The other thing is people here don't recycle as much as they should- acually barely at all as compared to NY. My Aunt and Uncle are going to start which makes me very happy, I'm gonna help remind/ teach them about it :)

What else? Job hunting still, hoping for a school job and then probably a bar or restaurant if I can at night and on weekends, although I would really like one full day off a week, but at this point it's probably better to work all I can until my car is taken care of and I have built up my account again, at least for a little while.  Gotta do what's gonna be best!

Random: I need to get new headphones, defrag my computer, hoop today, and call Virginia SP.

Productive is faster up North.

I am almost completely unpacked (yey). Even though most of the items I brought with me were either clothes or hair and makeup stuff...haha. That's what being a girl is though I guess!  I am actually excited to start working again, and starting in a different place is definitely a fresh start!

I later plan on hooping (even though it's rainy and wet out, the garage is open!! Woohoo!!). Tomorrow morning I am going to pick my car up, in the morning do some prep stuff, print out my papers I need, and then go around to different places to drop my resume off and get applications!! Monday was super productive, today will be mostly prep for tomorrow, then tomorrow I will be really productive as well! I love when I get stuff done, big stuff and accomplish goals! (Doesn't everyone though?).

One thing i do wish however, is that 13 Water was still 10 minutes away, as well as Dust, Karen, Taylor, Dri, katy, Maria, Flo, Bri, Brooke, Marie, Janet, and Sarah. Sarah is about 7 hours, Maria is 4, Flo is probably like 8, Brooke  is like 12, marie like 13, Janet, Katy, Bri, Karen, Tay, and Dust are like 16. I think.

What's Up with my Car? I'll tell You...

Car was looked at today, and although I have had my friends give different suggestions as to what was going on with it, along with the guys at Auto Zone who tested my car a few different times..(alternator, wiring from the automatic starter, a bad connection to the battery, a bad sensor in the engine for maybe the heat of the engine, etc). I was told it was the fuel pressure gage- aka the needle was not accurately showing where my fuel level is- it is ok when it's full to below the half tank mark, but when it gets down near a quarter of a tank then it doesn't move accurately, so basically I ran out of gas and didn't know it.

But, when it happened last time, I still turned the car on and went 30 miles to Raleigh, and then when I got there I drive it around the next day without getting gas and it was fine...I am almost positive I didn't get gas until right before I left. I will have to really think about it and maybe check with my friend and see if they remember anything I don't about it. I'm glad it's not major though, definitely!!

___________________________________________________________________________________
I found a sweet assistant events planner job I applied for, wish me luck! That would be amazing because that is what I want to do! (Obviously there will be more opportunity here where I am in a city and there are always things going on!). Also, I applied to work at a school as the afterschool activities coordinator. I would really like that as well, and even though it's part time it still would be in my field of study :) Also may try to wait or bartend again as well...always a good field to meet people in and make some connections, and a great social area! I loved bartending before, one of my favorite jobs (besides my recreation ones), so might as well do what I love!

On My Way... welcome to Atlanta!

On My Way…
Car is packed/ loaded, however you want to say it. Snow came down yesterday, roads a bit slippery. Oh man…at least I will be driving south. Unfortunately not completely out of it though- the southern states have snow..Alabama is really icy, things are predicted to be closing in Atlanta, and somewhere I heard the news talk about a 50 car pile up. Mostly because when people who are not used to driving in snow and ice go out in it, it is 10 times more dangerous!!
Got to Chantilly ok to Mingle’s. Had a nice lil visit with her. Had some lasagna and champagne even! I mapped out directions, and then headed to Mike’s around 6. Got there about 7.

Driving in DC when you haven’t before is pretty crazy..the lights are on the sides of the road and much lower than I am used to.  On constitution avenue, as well as other parts of town, there will be 3 lanes but at first I didn’t know which ones were to go straight and which ones were turn only until I got up there, but then I realized that there are these white signs that show each lane and has an arrow so you can be prepared as you come up on them. It can although be difficult to switch lanes if you are all the way over and you need to turn at the next road!  I made it though. When I got out front of the house, I remembered that there was a weird pull back to get around back of the house to the driveway, so I pulled over and M parked the car for me. When I was waiting there, a police came over and asked if I was ok. I told him about the parking deal, and then he told me to be careful and have a good night. Ok.
Get there, get ready to go out- we go to Ironhorse, a nice sports bar/restaurant.  They have booths with keg taps at the tables, 2 different kinds each…bud, Labatt, killians, shocktop…I think these were the ones. There were a few others too.  We watched most of the game, and then went back and hung out.
Next day I was surprised with a trip in the Washington monument..one of the few things we didn’t have time for last time I was there. The views were really good, and on the way down in the elevator you could see huge stone plaques (idk what else to call them right now) representing different states…really neat!
After that, we went to the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery and checked that out.
The night held an NBA game- Wizards vs I think it was LA.. Afterwards, we went to the Green Turtle.

Went to the gym, felt good to do 5 miles J Probably one of if not the nicest gym I’ve been in…sauna, steam room, new workout equipment, bi level, salon, smoothie/ juice/ sandwich place, great locker rooms and shower area…Vida
After that, we got some lunch at where M works, then chilled until later when we went to the Kennedy Center and saw the play Shear Madness. Great play, very funny. The Kennedy Center is amazing- so big, beautiful, spacious, and elegant!

Thursday I drove to Raleigh, NC.
On the way, 440 my car did the same thing it did when I was moving back from Cape Vincent a few years ago… it glided to a halt from 65. Ahhh. Ok, so I tried to turn it on and it wouldn’t work. I waited like 10 minutes and then turned it on and it was ok..I made it the rest of the 30 miles or so to Raleigh.
That night we went to the Carolina Ale House, 2 of them actually. I got some dinner and had some drinks. Fun time!
Next day, hung out and got the car checked…they said it wasn’t the battery or the alternator. The oil was changed last week, and all the fluids were checked and filled before I left DC.
I got a driving tour of the city, and went to this 50s style diner. I tried blackened catfish and I do have to say it was quite delicious!

We went to the Goat for a drink.

That night...a few attempts from guys to get my number…all failed. Haha One kept calling me lil S because he couldn’t remember my name. Haha Crazy person.  Anyways, it was an interesting night- and it wasn’t as bad sitting partially by myself (partically because for a few parts of the night a few people I knew came in so I chilled with them for a few hours) as I originally had thought.
Another late night, but a good one at that.

Next morning, although I thought I was staying in Charlotte for the night, things changed…J had to go to work and wouldn’t be there to let me in and whatnot so I just decided to drive all the way to Atlanta, and hope my car wouldn’t act up.

Supposed to be 6 hours….supposed to be. Well, let me tell you.

I drove 2 hours then stopped at a subway, got a sub and stayed like 30 mins to let my car cool off or whatever it had to do, even though the gage said the engine temperature was fine.
Drove another hour and a half and stopped again, had the worst 2 sips of coffee in my life, out of a machine. I say 2 sips because after the first one I though, omg it really can’t be THAT bad, can it?  So I tried a second sip and then realized right away that yes, yes it certainly CAN be THAT BAD.  So, there goes my dollar…in the trash can.
I continue driving, listening to <3 Drake along the way, along with some country stuff I mixed in too.
When I am on I-20W, in SC towards ATL, my car feels like it did a little pull left right left with the wheel, subtly but I still felt it. Like 30 seconds later it does it again, so I get to the far right and then pull off the side because I realize that my car is dying again. What?! Really, ok. I didn’t panic at this point because last time I waited and turned it on again in a few minutes and it was fine. So, I called my dad to let him know, (I was planning on getting it serviced as soon as I arrived in GA). I try it, it wouldn’t start…I waited and tried and it would for a second then shut off. Hmmmm… maybe I was supposed to stay in Raleigh and live there for a bit…?

I called AAA to see if someone could come jump it, because the battery and oil light were lit up.  A mechanic called me and I explained what happened and he said he can almost guarantee it wasn’t the battery, and I should call for a tow- if you call AAA for a  jump or something and you need a two or something else done that you don’t specify on the phone before they arrive, then you need to call AAA again and do a new request and wait even longer for a new person to come out. Figures. Good thing this guy saved me that time of the battery jump which I pretty much didn’t need. So, I called and requested a tow truck.
I was told it would be there by 707pm. Ok.
I wait. 725, no truck. I call around 730 to ask…right before this, AAA calls to make sure I’m still safe and says then truck should be there any minute…I’m waiiiiitingggg…nope.
I call again, 745ish. Now am informed someone cancelled my request at 630. I need to wait for a new request to be sent out. (Lexington, SC)
((Really!?!?)) (Breathe).
Ok, how long will that be?
I’m not sure maam, I need to call someone but will let you know.
                Ok.

****Wait*****

Hello, Stephanie?
                Yes.
I am having a little trouble finding someone to come and tow you, because the company we called, their long distance driver is off today and for the next few days.
Ok….Well, I have been sitting here since about 530 and now it’s almost 8:00…
Yes, I understand that and I am sorry this is happening to you.
                Me too.
I promise I will get someone out there as soon as I can, and if this company can’t I will make sure to find someone else to.
Thank you, I’m hoping not to have to sit on the side of the road overnight.
No, you won’t.
I sure hope not.  ((Car headlights are dimming, along with much slower 4 way blinkers at this time)

**Wait***

I found someone for you, and they have been informed of your situation, they are in their way now and should be there by about 838.
Ok, thank you. If they don’t show up I’m calling you back again.

**wait**

Hello, is this Miss Stephanie?
                Yes.
This is Justin from r & B Auto, I have someone on their way for you right now, they should be there in 35-40 minutes (8:07pm).
                Thanks, great.

**wait**

8:15 lights out on car, def drained the battery all the way.

**Wait lalalal, start singing loudly and looking at Orion constellation, wondering if the woods next to me are shallow or if the go back, how far it is if I walked to the next exit…if I could open my doors and stand between them to pee because I have had to go a while now, or if I should ask the driver to stop once he gets there so I can go, but maybe that would add more mileage on so he would charge me pretty much for asking to use the restroom).

I put the flashlight my dad had me put in the car on, pointing out the back window to act as a “car light” so drivers and trucks will see me and so the tow driver can see me.

8:50, no truck.
8:55 no truck.
I call Justin and he says he will contact the driver and see where he is.
9:15 truck arrives.
                (Yey! Finally! J)

-Truck backs up…doesn’t stop and tow is now screeching on top of my hood.

My mouth drops open.  No words.

I get out of the car…”You have got to be shitting me.”

Car driver gets out, looks, gets back in car and pulls forwards..the noise again.
((Holy Shit, icing on the cake. Oh well, at least I don’t have energy to get mad so I just start laughing.))
“That part supposed to go under the car?”
Yes, maam.
                Well, it didn’t. (Captain obvious)
I’m sorry maam, it’s my first time driving this truck, I should have checked it before I backed up.
                “Yes, you probably should have.”
He calls his manager, and I call aaa. They say to do a police report, so I call the SCPD…there are a lot of accidents so when the next available officer can we will send them there.
“Do you know about how long it will be by chance?”
No, once they are done with the other calls.
                “..Ok, thank you.”

I take pictures, so does the driver. He hooks the car up while I am (I would say frantically, but even though I was making a lot of calls my attitude and demeanor was of disbelief and comic, luckily) calling a zillion people trying to figure this out. AAA, SC police, Aunt J, Dad, Neighbor Sue…  about an hour later we get the police report. We get on the road finally, 2 hour drive, GPS says we will arrive in Conyers at 1:34.
The driver was nice, he really didn’t mean to hit it, and I was going to be riding with him a few hours..don’t want to be on his bad side, plus I had to get a feel whether I felt safe riding with him. I did, so after like 15 mins on the road I fell asleep. Woke up when we were almost to Conyers.

Arrival time said 1:36. We got there, he had to call in my credit card for the towing payment (not cheap by the way, even with the 1st 100 miles in tow free).

Aunt J and Scott are there, we get out my electronics and drive to waffle house. Slow service, good food, bet cheesy eggs I’ve ever had in my life though, no joke. Chocolate milk cures everything. They forgot the cheese on my hash browns and I had to remind him of my oj and my raisin toast and grits because I think he put my order in wrong. Oh well, I don’t care what I get after my 3 ½ hours sitting by the side of the road without heat (yes, it was sc but there was snow there, it was night and it was at the warmest lower 40’s while I was sitting there). Food is food.  Kind of nice to get it in sections though, it kept everything warm by the time I got to it!

Also, on the upside of being towed…it saved my new snow tires all those miles of wear and tear on a dry road, I didn’t have to refill my gas tank (even though what I paid definitely would have got me like 5 months worth of gas), I got to sleep, and didn’t have to worry about being the one to get lost or have to drive at night.
R & B are paying for the damages to the hood, and I have to wait 3-4 days to hear if I will be compensated for the cancelled request, which if I didn’t call back no one would have come get me, the late arrivals, etc. Also, my phone thank goodness it was fully charged on the road because with all the calls I was making by the time I finally got to where I met my Aunt and Uncle, it had low battery- and think about it, with a dead car battery you can’t charge anything.

(**A few days later I saw this battery powered thing to charge your phone- small enough to put in your purse, which will be yet another anticipated future purchase)

Drink lots of H2O

So, even though I was sad to leave Atlanta, I was sure glad to get back to my friends here in NY! I had an amazing last week of the semester/ finals week- which, luckily this year wasn't my year to take them! : Woohoo!

Sum it up...uhm, Four Lokos, hooping, snowball fights, hot cider, snow angels...dancing...even when me, flo, and Mikey were the only ones on the dance floor at the underground bar...haha.

Out in Syracuse which was wicked fun...3 bullseyes in darts (oh yea!)...I can't even begin to describe all the awesome times we had before we all spead out, more permanently this time...me GA, Flo- Virginia Beach, Maria- Mountains in North Carolina, Josh- Maryland,  Dri- Back home downstate....ahh! We will reunite again though.

Also, went sledding and made snow angels as well w Dust and Emily...Blue frog for the end of the Formation of Clouds...decided to stay out with Mel and go to Brix and chill w Traub and Moses...end up seeing Chad and Jake and Feint!! :) Wow, I was so happy to see them!! (Uhm, yea I can def say I miss them too!!). We played pool for literally 3 hours, and I ended up getting progressively better as the night went on- as expected, if someone plaYs for 3 hours and still doesn't get better then there is a big problem..) lol.

Christmas went well, got stuff that I can definitely use- which is a lot better than junk...
Christmas with the whole Dad's side went well too- nice to have some wine to keep things rolling as well! (Dad said only half a glass...yeah, uh huh...I love how as an adult he still thinks of me as his little kid and feels the need to try and set limits even now that I can make my own decisions..doesn't mean they will be followed or listened to though!)

***I'm sorry I need to apologize right now. this post is a half assed one, I only have a few days left here in NY and wanna go hang out with my bro but wanted to put some bridge post in here...to be edited or written more in later***

New years Eve- Me and Karen went snowboarding with Justin and Chad and some other friends....I did better than I thought I was going to, fell a few times definitely, but I didn't get a bruise on my butt like last time when i went!  I just would get right back up...Plus, this time I went down with my left foot first, and last time I went down with my right foot first (goofy i think it's called). I would have rather gone with my right foot forwards, but I decided it would be too much hassle to change it, even though Chad said he could do it for me.

Around 2, we headed back to Cortland and I headed to the Jug- open till 6am yeahh! So I drank after 2, enjoyed some tasty beverages to ring in the new year, and ended the night with a truly awesome BLT with mayo and extra crispy bacon!! Then, walked to Karen's and crashed at 730am..slept only for 2 hours, then was up...took a one hour nap later that day, but then still was up until about 1am the next night- how does our bodies do that?? Pull that much energy from that little sleep?!?! haha

Got my professional pics done...sent them to an agency...emailed for a job....realized the babysitting gig I thought I was going to take was a scam. At least I realized it now versus when I got down there...never again will I believe someone who is more concerned about the money than about their child and the specifics about the caregiver!  Whatever, it's over and done with....I am hoping to get an afterschool activities job at a school near my new place...application is in and I should hear within the next week or so!

Headed out Monday morning to DC for a few days...then Raleigh...then to my new home (or home away from home)!!  Also, planning a trip to see Maria <3 and Sarah in New Orleans...I just need a job as the number one priority first so I can have money to do all this cool stuff! ahah. I wish the world didn't revolve around money and I wish you could just get by on how good of a personality and heart you had! Wouldn't that be nice!??! (Maybe in my dreams!)

Now, almost all my stuff I am taking is packed, sitting between the front room and my room...I am ready to put it in my car, but figure it probably isn't the best thing for shampoo, perfume, my tv, and miscellaneous other electronics to be sitting in the single digits for a few days- may freeze or crack, or cause a problem.

Tonite I'm hangin out with my bro, tomorrow will be my last errands, maybe see if Aunt Lisa is home and visit her...pm Chad is cooking dinner and then thinking it wil be my last night out in Cortland. Saturday I'm hoping to do some yoga with mom, and quality time there, then at night see my girl Kylie one more time (not last though!!) and have some fun in cocktail attire, break out the glow sticks and dance music....wow, it's really going to happen!! :) It's about time!!

I am so glad that I took this trip I have taken- I wouldn't trade it at all, and it just inspires me more to crack down, save more and plan to make my dreams become reality!! I hope to never settle or let my spirit get down! Life is such a wonderful thing and the world is so amazing, I want to see and do it all!! It's a gift and is to be treated like it- use it up, wear it out, don't let it collect dust!!

Quote tonight: Feel the music and live it!
