Snow... and lots of it!

Sometimes it is nice just to get random thoughts and ideas out of your head to a solid piece of "paper."

Every once in a while, some uninterrupted me time is in order- I do whatever I want, take my time, eat what I want and sleep when I want, primp as long as I like, zone out when needed, be super productive and on task and really accomplish something.... and no pressure! No limits to this day! So refreshing!

Recent issue: Problematic hives that keep popping up everyday- reappear when benedryl is not in my system. It has been going on for about a week and is very scary/ annoying/ frustrating! I have been to the hospital's care center, the regular doctor, had to leave work today and have another appointment next week then possibly one with an allergist. Unfortunately i need to consider canceling my weekend trip due to the fact of distance to a hospital in case needed. I have an epi pen for the first time as well- I would rather be safe than sorry but it is a little un-nerving! symptoms include hives on joint areas and areas with extra heat (neck/shoulders, shoulder blades, wrists, inside of elbows, back of thighs- when it is worse it is all over arms/ legs/ etc. I drank 2 different kinds of tea out of my normal routine (Joint comfort and Caramel bedtime tea) the night before the symptoms started happening. I'm thinking it is something that is reacting with my body and is trying to get out. I drank 10 cups of water the other day at work and that seemed to help but symptoms still have not cleared up and it seems a mystery at this point.  No change of laundry detergent or soaps/ lotions@!

Snow storm today... slippery roads in the morning and got worse in the afternoon...still snowing now.  Definitely a winter wonderland outside, very pretty at least!

I have been fortunate and started spending time with someone who is pretty great.  We collaborate well together in the kitchen and have made some super amazing dishes I would consider in the category of 'fine dining'...seriously! Enjoying my free time and company.

As far as work goes, I am still working at the same center with young kids, influencing and hopefully expanding their young minds.  Routine is huge and it is something I am adapting a little better to, although I would rather shake up the routine and do something different some of the time!

My brother graduated Ithaca College this winter, a great accomplishment!

I forgot how good Quaker Peaches and Creme Oatmeal was until i decided to have some for dessert...

Catch Up Round 2

So, the Yoga Challange I pursued is over- I did alright with it, successfully cut out all my drinking for longer than the challange was; the yoga slowly tapered out at the end due to some new things going on in my life, random tasks relating to me buying a car again, and a few other things.  I did get a lot out of it but would have honestly benefitted more if I pushed through the whole entire thing (all my fault) but I did keep up with the "readings" that were included so I am happy about that. Mr. Baptiste is a wise man!

2014- a 'new beginning' once again

Welcome to the new year...it has been quite a while since I wrote my last entry. I will be adding a reflection entry about some lessons and breakthroughs of the last year at some point but for now I may share a few in this post  :)

As of this year I have successfully completed a fruit cleanse, along with started the year with a fairly regular workout routine and am happy with the people in my life at this point! I have a few good friends that have come back into my life recently as well, along with the true blues who have been there through it all and some new good ones as well. I am hoping this year to do more of what makes me happy, make a difference in one way or another, get myself in tip top shape, make a larger dent in paying back my student loans, take at least one vacation this year, do some camping this summer, finally start/ finish my scrapbook that I have had the good intention of doing but have not completed yet, build a little savings cushion once again, keep my connections strong, and make a feasible 5 year career plan.  I am thinking about possibly taking a few more classes in the area of nutrition or related area, or learning more and volunteering with some community building events field.

Big life lessons I learned last year include not taking your life for granted, living each day like it may be one of your last, letting people you care about know, apologizing and taking responsibility for your actions but also forgiving as well.

Give people chances but also become comfortable with the fact that if someone or something is not the right fit for your life situation it is ok to say goodbye and give yourself the opportunity to find what is going to make yourself truly happy and successful.

Laughter and the sense of purpose and belonging are two very important qualities in my life and balance is something that is necessary- finding it and then keeping it is the challenge but worth the effort.

Believe in yourself and give yourself credit.

Don't let other people's negative attitudes bring you down as best you can.

Follow your heart and try not to let something slip away if you feel it is worth a shot and you may regret later not trying it. Better to say you tried and it was not right then wish you had and never be able to have that chance again- life doesn't wait around for anyone. So many things in life are about timing- whether it be on yours or the other end, if things don't match up then it is very difficult for it to work out properly.

Make as many memories as you can and savor your opportunities!

Make and enjoy delicious food and priceless company.

Take a lesson from every situation, and learn from yours as well as others' mistakes.

Reflect. Breathe. Appreciate. Relax.
